I Check

Early AM eye MD appt. to follow up on laser surgery. All is as expected. Right eye to be done in 6 weeks. Have another eye MD appt. tomorrow to have refraction re-check and hopefully, get some new lenses so I can see better. We'll see. :) !

More Cleaning...

Another brisk morning, somewhat overcast and possibly expecting some moisture--rain/snow before the week is out. Mass this AM, ran an errand, home to eat, then off to St. Pat's to cover a Holy Hour, volunteer at rectory and back home to clean out more cabinets. Got only one cabinet cleaned out yesterday. Plan to get the rest of the cabinets done, then dig into the drawers and shelves.

Sun's Out, Ma's In/Out

The rain gutter cleanout was a real trip---1 step forward, 2 steps backwards. Another of my certifiable clusters---no need for further discourse. Just call it done for another day. The sun is out--the temp is in the 40's, perfect for cutting down the clematis/silver lace vines on the east fence, cleaning some windows, and finishing up the house chores.

Mass this AM, volunteered at rectory, doing more filing, shredding, staying busy, etc.

Hot and Humid etc.

Still hot, too hot, really hot....Hot, hot, hot!!!! Trying to do yard work in the early mornings before/after Mass---finished the mowing at 11:00am yesterday at a sweltering 103 degrees---showered (2nd of the day), gathered the 3 Dogmingos, and took an hour nap. Nice.

Mass this AM, volunteered at rectory, PM eye MD appt, evening committee meeting then hope to chill.

Waiting for the Hummingbirds

Yesterday:
Most of the work completed on deck, just some touch ups needed, and then it's recline in the sunshine for the rest of the summer. Hung two wrought iron hangers. Worked out in the yard (pulling up lots of goose neck loose strife plants/roots). Ended up w/lots of plants/roots removed plus lots of dirt on butt of my jeans. Sprinkler system up and running. Changed out some plants in pots that got wind burnt in last weeks wind. (Kat, switched out the snap dragons for gazenia plants in the corner pot---great idea!--thanks!--they look great!)

Today:
Mass this AM. Took pics (see above for a special hummingbird feeder--definitely a double click--thanks, VA Ashpole family), listening to a symphony---NOT of barking dogs (Dogmingos /neighbor hood group)---no deer in sight, just barking dogs...Thinking of leaving to run some errands just to get the barking sound out of my head. I'm outta here!!!!

Fall is here

The weather here is absolutely magnificent---crisp, low humidity, temp of 53 degrees, and the windows are now open until frost. Sleeping later in the AM's---having to start the day on the run to go to Mass and all of my "runnings around." Finished the mowing/edging and getting ready to head out to Lord's Diner.

The house painting will resume next week, or the next or the next... I am okay with that as they are doing a good job, everything has had one coat and will be fine. Update on Fedex ornamental grasses/plants status---they left Ellenwood GA this AM and are on their way to KS. Can you tell I am excited to see them arrive?

The "Look"

This is what I faced yesterday when I returned from Camelot---the "Look." Depression, hunger, and immobility had set in during my absence. Don't they just look pitiful? A little meal, ice cream treat, lap time and they were back to their old selves.

Flower feature for today: Minneapolis Coleus (top) and a black ajuga (bottom) (Double Click to enlarge)--both seem to be thriving this summer. Enjoy!!!

Plans for today include playing in the flower garden, reading, resting, blah, blah, blah... Have a few rocks to line/extend some flower beds. Will be perfect time since it is cooler here today.
