Amazing Find

It once was lost and now it's found--Thanks to my dear friend DeeDee who helped not only plant flowers but turned up finding the lost rock. Can hardly wipe the smile off her face as she bought plants today and can now deduct $25.00 from the cost of her plants. Everyone can rest the rock is found and the debt paid off.

DeeDee sends her thanks to all of you.

Proof of find:

Hail of a Night

Had ping pong and golf sized hail for a couple of hours last night. Holes in the (not now) new daylight window covers, deck pelted causing pits in wood and stain/paint on flooring, tresses, rails (you name it--mostly cosmetic), garden/deck decor broken (Don't laugh Kat) and just pretty discusting. Have already filed a claim and should have estimator contacting me by next week. Saved a truck total claim for State Farm---my neighbor parked his pickup in the extra garage area. Thinking about moving to Delaware where nothing ever happens.

Mass this AM, ran errands and getting ready for a busy, busy next week. Have plants to set out today--patting myself on the back I did not put them out yesterday.

Putz Mission

On a mission w/conflicts----want to be out in the dirt---want to shop for plants--want to clean off the porch/deck---want, want, want--putz, putz, putz. (Sounds like a cheer---now all I need to add is a rah, rah, and a sis boom bah.)

Mass this AM, ran an errand, ate some more of  that oatmeal, put a load of clothes in the washer, and now gearing up to putz.

Sun Up, Ma's Out...

Mass this AM, picked up a Sunday paper, took the car thru the car wash, ate some more of that wonderful oatmeal (hate to admit it but am actually taking an acquired liking to it--changed brands and finding it much improved--thanks Kat) and am planning on sitting on back deck w/cup of coffee, newspaper, and barking dogs. Always the barking dogs.

Going to start getting the deck furniture ready for "action" (AKA: lounging). Hoping to have all my outside lounging done before the KU/North Carolina BB game begins. Working on another quiet day.

FYI: Mass for our family this week at St. Patrick's on 03/27/2012 @ 8:00am.

Stocking up

(Compost/top/potting soil--note the little white bag leaning on the potting soil; a heavy duty old shower curtain. That is the most useful part of the project. The curtain fits perfectly in the storage portion of the HR. Saves clean up, and multi-purposeful for pulling the bags out w/ease and works as a cover to keep  the potting soil fresh.. nice. I carry it in a Ziplock bag in the car in case I need to make a stop at a garden nursery. )

Think the top soil/compost/potting soil will do me for a while. Filled in some low areas, pulled weeds, and scattered Preen over the bare spots/no weed zones in flower garden yesterday. Luv having extra(s) garage space to stack my planting supplies. Taking a break today---just to take in the wonderful sunshine, blue skies...

Mass this afternoon/evening. Nap for sure, read----just chill.

Stocking up

Shopping/buying mulch, potting/top soil. Rainy day. Nice soft rain. Everything looks different everyday, plants popping out of ground, trees greening up/blooming----just luv Spring.

Had a busy weekend, The Saturday St. Pat's Church party went well, was home early. Dinner at St. Joseph Church on Sunday for their annual German sausage fund raiser. Looking forward to eating at home for the rest of the week.

Mass this AM, shopped to pick up the potting soil, home to play/snuggle w/the "boys, read, and getting ready to watch DWTS this evening.

Stay healthy, safe, and keep in touch.

Lots of Sorting...

Great weekend, rained off and on, everything greening up, trees and Spring flowers blooming...nice. Spent most of the weekend sorting though files doing the yearly "clean out/shred" process. Still more to do and will focus doing it in the evenings during the rest of the week.

Mass this AM (7:30am), visited w/famliy, did some grocery shopping-----came home to eat and do some indoor/outdoor picking up. Trying to eat healthier---have eaten Irish, steel cut oatmeal each AM for the last 2 weeks---nasty stuff---expensive, but "healthy",  am determined to finish it off (before I die of good health). It certainly does decrease the AM appetite.

Mass for our family on Friday, 8:00am at St. Patricks Church. Bought a ticket to go to the St. Patrick's annual  (March 17, 5:00pm to 11:00pm), steak dinner/dance/silent auction to benefit the school. This should prove interesting seeing that I am such an avid steak eater, dancer in a past life, and gambler at heart. Now it's a draw as to whether sorting/shredding, eating more steel cut oatmeal. or a steak dinner will win out as one of my (not ) favorite activities this week. We'll see.

Stay healthy, safe, and keep in touch.

Enjoying the Sunshine

Mass this AM, ran some errands, and now enjoying the sunshine (52 degrees). Plan to go to Mass this afternoon/evening so I can lie in bed tomorrow AM and adjust to the time change.

Nothing special planned for the rest of the weekend---except enjoying the sunshine and messing w/the "boys."

Stay healthy, safe, keep in touch----and enjoy the sunshine.

Do It, Do It, Redo it...

Washed bedding yesterday and Spence helped me re-wash his blankets today. Obviously, the "boy" ate something yesterday that was destined  to blow around 2:00am. Heard that sound that no one wants to wake up to ---the ole re-gurge noise. Grabbed the "boy" between heaves and ran/carrying him---(yes, ran/carring) out the back door. Lots going on---crazy women carrying one, and racing w/2 other dogs. Buster and Rowdy were confused, wanted no part of it but did run with us thinking we were off on early AM hunt. Changed bedding and was back in bed by 2:45am---sans night treat. Do not want to start a trend. Spence is back to his ole self today. We slept in until 5:45am.

Mass at 7:30am, washed bedding, attended a meeting, ran some errands...plan to go to Stations of the Cross at 6:00pm then home read, watch TV, and to bed early. Looking forward to having a good night's sleep.

Stay healthy, safe, and keep in touch.

Dee, Dee, Dee, Dee....

Woke up to dark (5:00am) morning, sleet on the ground, still coming down, solar lights still shining brightly on the back deck---repeat--5:00am --- repeat---solar lights still on.  Blaming it all on the solar flare. Knew the flare would involve GPS and electrical disruptions but was not aware it would mess w/my solar lights. Really enjoyed the lights whatever the reason.

Mass this AM at 7:30am, home to eat, finish laundry (bedding), sweep, read/snuggle w/"boys", stay warm...nice.

Stay healthy, safe, and keep in touch.

Twas a Great Day...

And what to my wandering (truly wandering, not wondering) eyes did appear but a postman carrying a package w/some of my favorite eats---better known as NJ home made "Mama Marinara", Annies' organic Asian Sesame Dressing (also great for dipping), and Rosa Mexicano  Pomegranate Black Bean Salsa. All arrived intact and are featured in today's pic. One can only say--"Thanks to the Palumbo's."  It's like Christmas--okay kick it down a notch to a wonderful birthday treat.

Mass this AM, MD appt. (to evaluate my recent PT visits----I passed), Stations of the Cross this afternoon, home to do laundry, feed "boys" and listen to them bark, bark, bark. The weather has changed from sunny/windy to cloudy, temp dropping, possible rain and they are protesting (no, probably just barking).

Stay healthy, safe, and keep in touch.

Spring is Coming

Mass this AM, ran lots of errands, out in the yard to take some flower pics, pick up the house, and enjoy the day. So wonderful to have the Spring flowers "pop" up and bloom. May have some Daffodil and Tulip pics in the near future.

Visited a local bulk feed and seed store on Saturday---picked up some Nasturium, Broom Corn seeds, and requested a search for ornamental Milo seeds. Plan to place a lot of plants in pots throughout the beds and refrain from deck pots---too much maintenance. That deck was made for sitting, resting, reading...not working.

Stay healthy, safe, and keep in touch.

Another Sunny Day

Mass this AM, volunteered at the rectory, PT appt. and home to putz and hang w/the"boys."  They are luving running in and out, barking up a storm (hopefully, not), and being under foot (or having Kat visit and pry them w/treats/apples---see above 2011 pic).

Sunny day, temp 76 degrees, and very slight breeze. Making a list of things to pick up for yardwork---top soil, mulch...

Stay healthy, safe, and keep in touch.
