Stuff

Salmon are running!!!! Right to my doorstep in a box from Alaska. Received a boxful of Larry's wonderful smoked Salmon w/picante sauce. Already sampled some---YES!!!!! Thank you Larry!

Volunteering each day for the last 2 weeks at St. Patrick's School to help get ready for the school year. Too hot to be outside---was 109 degrees yesterday afternoon.

Sprinkler system scheduled to be installed on Monday.

Signed up for an 8 week beginning bridge class. Starts mid September. Have not played bridge since you kids were little---remember all the fun we had playing bridge/w Jan when she came home on the weekends from K-State?

Church tower bell will be put in place this AM after Mass. Will be blessed by the Bishop on September 5th.

Off to Mass, watch the installation of the bell, volunteer at rectory/school, grocery shop, take Rowdy for annual check up this afternoon, and possibly take off the last of the wallpaper in the office.

Have a special BD (Phia) this weekend, grandchildren off to college (Taylor and Michael) next week...life is good! Stay healthy, be safe, and keep in touch.

3 Reasons for Joy

Looking at this day and thanking God for all of the many blessings in my life. Can especially think of 3 reasons I am so thankful for the last 50 years of my life. Cannot even imagine how empty my life would have been without these blessings. Just have to thank God for being part of His plan...Thank each of you for also being part of my life. It has been a true joy.

Nice weekend.

Sat: Mass and yard work in AM. Music theater in afternoon. Music theater was like a Mel Brooks mystery/musical---really enjoyable. Dinner out w/friend.

Sun: Mass, read, watered flowers, ice cream w/Keith and Becky.

Today: Off to Mass in AM (offered for Pop), start PT for some hip and back exercises, take boys to groomer at noon, might work on wallpaper removal (almost completed), plan a visit to Ascension to sing HB and Pop's favorite rendition of "Have I Told You Lately that I Love You (will miss the "look" and being smacked w/the newspaper while singing), then dinner w/Keith this evening. Will help finish up w/paperwork from school enrollment throughout the week.

Wanted to share an excerpt from one of yesterday's Mass readings: Hebrews 1-2: "Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen." Found that very profound.

Ending a busy week. To Mass this AM, volunteer at rectory, grocery shop, then home to remove the last of the wallpaper from the office. Look forward to Mass tomorrow in AM and Music Theater in PM. Already purchased next years season tickets to Music Theater. Have said it before---great way to spend a hot afternoon summer day (the shows are also wonderful--know I will be nicely surprised.)

Reminder: Mass being offered for Pop on Monday @ St. Patrick Church at 8:00am. It would have been his 73rd birthday. I think of him dearly as "the man, the myth, the legend, and an honorable friend." Know you also have good memories of him.

Went to Mass.
Attended a downtown 2 hr health care focus meeting.
Volunteering at school all week to help w/enrollment.
Meeting w/sprinkler guy to get bid info this evening.

That pretty much says it for my day.
