Life is good

Waking up in the morning, cup of coffee, walking through the yard with the "boys", going to Mass, coming home, walking through the yard with the "boys", eating some breakfast, followed by walking through the yard with the "boys"...Wear a pedometer and it usually registers 2 to 7+ miles/day---need more "boys" here on the 2 mile/day---would venture to guess not enough walking through the yard. Stood in the street to take this pic of the house to share the front yard shrubs---note "boys" at gate. (click pics 2 times for close up view).

Enough of this---hope your day is also good, wish you good health, stay safe, and keep in touch.
Love,
Mom

Gone to the Dogs, lizards, flowers, and reunions...

Know Bruce e-mailed this to some but just had to include this little guy in his 4th of July gear. This was done at the boarding doggie day care center. (click to enlarge and get a closer look at the wrinkle resting on his nose). What a sweet little "guy"!

The flower of the day is the Zinnia. The Zinnias are at their best this year--nice blooms, no rust on the foilage, and still putting out lots of buds. Looked through my file of Kodak pictures and noted I am close to 1000 pics (mostly flowers and flower garden). Not trying to scare anyone just sit back, buckle up for the pictures to continue to be posted throughout the fall and winter months.

Mount Carmel is having its 50th year reunion in September. I received a handwritten invitation--noting that they were aware I had only attended one year, the person remembered me and encouraged me to go. I have until mid August to send my money. I am just a tad weary of the search for one year attendees---reminds me of Kurt's late night appeal (met me at the door at midnight, after I had worked a 2nd shift) to sign a permission slip so his name could be put in the drawing for having the (either 3rd or 4th grade) class Iguana spend the summer at our house. With 26 kids in the class what would be the likelyhood his name would be drawn? Returned home the next night, again met Kurt at the door with a big grin on his face proclaiming his luck----seems he was the only kid in the class who returned his permission slip and we were the caretakers of this big lizard. My point in all of this is---what if I am the only attendee? (LOL). May consider it. Have been in touch (throughout the years) with my freshman prefect (homeroom) teacher from Mt. Carmel. Just spoke with her last month. She is 81 years old, really sharp, delightful to visit with, and she was excited she is now on line and we can e-mail each other. Also received a Mass card from her indicating Pop and Kelli are being remembered in the convent prayers and Masses--nice.

Imagine the ones of you who read this are glad you are not up this early or thankful you have jobs to go to so you do not have an earful to start your day. So I must repeat with ---stay healthy, be safe, and keep in touch.

Mom

The flowers continue...

Note the glow at the center and the water droplets on the morning glory. Was surprised to see this small gerbera daisy put out so many flowers. Love the mornings--the flower garden looks different each AM---must be the garden fairies who touch their magic to it at night.
The shed is completely cleaned out and ready for removal. Have a considerable amount of ground work to do following removal---will be a fall project. Plan to place a large arbor in the area and transfer some hostas and other shade loving plants in that area.
Got mowing and yard work done yesterday and planning inside stuff today---Mass, walk while it is still cool, maybe lunch with friends, playing with the "boys", housework, yada, yada, yada...
Stay healthy/safe and keep in touch,
Love,
Mom

Nothing but flower news

No day is complete without an early morning look at the flowers. The Sweet Peas and Zinnias seem to be doing well and are quite "showy" this year.

Have a full calendar this week--lots of projects to keep me busy. Like it that way.
Please stay safe, be healthy, and keep in touch.

Mom

It's all about the flowers

Took early AM flower garden pics. These were in good form---thought I would share. (double click to see water droplets)
Plan on a quiet day, Mass, reading, playing with the "boys", and trying to get in a walk between rain showers. It is a cool and wonderful morning.
Really need to get a life---as noted in yesterday's blog---certainly have too much time on my hands. Not that there are not things to do but do I want to do them and when do I want to do them?
Keep healthy, stay safe, and keep in touch,
Love,
Mom

Things to do...

The flowers had a wonderful rainshower yesterday. It will be a great day for mowing today. This hanging plant is flourishing--so great to look out the back door each morning and look at all the plants. The weatherman promises another rainshower on Saturday.

Plan on a quiet 4th, go to Mass, work in the yard, do some house cleaning, take some pictures, read, walk (sans "boys"), etc.
Hope your time off is peaceful, stay safe, keep healthy, and stay in touch.
Love,
Mom
