CT results: Lung scan: negative. Abdominal/pelvis shows "metastatic blastic lesions on spine and pelvis." They are referring pop to oncologist possibly for PET scan, bone biopsy, and treatment options. Pop had a rough night last night---I told the nurse and requested we to see oncologist as soon as possible to get things rolling. She agreed and they are working on the referral as we speak. Will keep you posted.

Consulted with C. Rossini, M.D....
She said to be "adament" about pain meds. There are a lot of choices and dosages and you may need to try several before you find a 'cocktail' that works. Ask for a 12 hour pain med to get through the nights. Might not last 12 hours but it is stronger and will help with comfort to get sleep. Docs know a few days/week might not change diagnosis & treatment and some lose focus of the patient and family anxiety. Thanks from all of us for staying on top of the doctors and moving things along.

Great to visit w/you last night. Think we got things worked out at MD appt this am. Glad you are conferring w/Rossini, M.D.---Please invite all her input---Dr. Buth was on the pain control management wagon after pop was open enough to discuss his real pain w/him. Told pop on way to app.---this am appt. would be wasted if he did not openly discuss his pain and needs. Think the car ride (see blog) may have opened the door also---really had him fired up by the time we made it across the am cross town traffic. Thanks for the good thoughts/prayers---keep them coming.
